Ook vergezelde hij haar naar nascholingscursussen in het buitenland. Naast haar praktijk gaf ze namelijk heel veel lezingen. Nadat hij in 2006 zelf was afgestudeerd als tandarts in Venezuela, besloot dr. Martinez Colmenares uiteindelijk, vanwege de politieke en economische omstandigheden in zijn thuisland, een praktijk te beginnen in Barcelona, Spanje. Hij werkt hier meerdere dagen per week als praktiserend tandarts en doceert daarnaast aan de wereldberoemde *Universidad Internacional de Catalunya* over esthetiek, zijn tandheelkundige passie. „Ik word niet alleen mijn hele leven al omringd door tanden, maar ook door producten van Ultradent Products. Op die manier kan ik de flossdraad zonder problemen langs alle buurelementen halen.” Hij vervolgt: „Daarna haal ik de PointCure Lens eraf en gebruik ik de volledige lens van de VALO Grand-lamp om de hele restauratie uit te harden.” De PointCure Lens is niet het enige accessoire dat dr. Martinez Colmenares in zijn dagelijks werk vaak gebruikt. „De ProxiCure™ Ball Lens is ook heel fijn om mee te werken. Ik heb natuurlijk een goed matrixsysteem, maar met deze lens weet ik 100% zeker dat ik kan uitharden terwijl ik druk uitoefen. En alles blijft goed op zijn plek zitten als ik de lens wegneem. Ik heb een vast protocol voor het selecteren van composiet, en daar voel ik me goed bij. Ik maak zelfs foto's met een polarisatiefilter (kruispolarisatie) om te zien welke kleuren het beste integreren met het te restaureren element. Toch zijn er af en toe situaties waarin mijn ogen moe beginnen te worden als ik de composiet ga aanbrengen. Ik merk dat ik de details niet meer allemaal scherp zie. Dankzij de White Light Lens weet ik zeker of ik op deze kritieke momenten de juiste kleur op de juiste plaats gebruik. Bovendien zorgt deze lens voor een dubbele controle op mijn werk. Dat is van onschatbare waarde voor een drukke tandarts die aan het eind van de dag vaak moe is, maar toch de juiste kleur moet afstemmen.” Dr. Martinez Colmenares voegt daaraan toe: „Als ik zes of meer composietveneers doe, kost dat veel tijd. De Black Light Lens helpt me om eventuele restjes composiet van hun orthobehandelingen te zien zitten, zodat ik die kan verwijderen en met een schone lei kan beginnen. De lens helpt me ook om het gezonde glazuur van de patiënt niet aan te raken of uit te boren.
